History of the School
Throughout the past years the clergy, religious, lay teachers, parents, and parishioners have maintained that same spirit of providing the children of Sacred Heart School with an excellent education based on our Catholic faith.
Immediately following the dedication of the new church in April 1913, the pastor,Fr. Burelbach decided that the children needed a Catholic school. The construction of the school was soon underway and the Sisters of St. Joseph contracted to begin teaching the 1916-1917 school year. In the meantime, the children began classes,
grades one through eight, in the old church building with Miss Jennie Curtain as the school's first teacher. The new school building was completed and occupied by Miss Curtain and the children in January 1916.
